Reducing the spread of Covid-19 in informal settlements

It is a tough time for the entire world. Covid-19 is spreading and people living in informal settlements are afraid because most of them lack access to clean water, soap and sanitation facilities.

We have developed a community solution to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Though the solution is temporary we hope this can be a way to support our community.

Garden of Hope Foundation has set up hand washing facilities in strategic places in Kibera slum. The hand washing stations are aimed at equipping the community with timely and accurate information as provided by the Government (Ministry of Health) and World Health Organization. We are also sharing skills and information on safe and hygienic ways of hand washing.

We hope this initiative will help reduce the spread of Covid-19 in informal settlements while complementing the efforts of the government.
